![]() It has layers of paper, acrylic paint, pen, pencil and I chose to paint her hair white instead of her true colour which is black, because I feel it captures the ethereal beauty of Geisha's. ![]() This heavily textured Abstract Portrait of Iwasaki, plays on a thick textured canvas base of moulding and crackle paste. 'Mineko Iwasaki is a Japanese businesswoman, author and former Geisha. Known as the most famous geisha in Japan, she performed for celebrities and royalty during her geisha life (retired at the age of 29), and was one of several Geisha's interviewed for the novel Memoirs of a Geisha.' ![]() In the second 'in situ' photo here, I have added a frame to the painting so that you can see what it would look like. ![]() Please note this canvas is only a single thickness and although it comes with a wire on the back and the sides are gallery finished, it would definitely look better framed. ![]()
